The former NHL forward and current Thunderbirds coach stays put after a deep playoff run in the AHL.

Steve Ott signed a two-year extension to remain head coach of the Springfield Thunderbirds, the St. Louis Blues' AHL affiliate. Ott, 43, led Springfield to the Atlantic Division Final this spring before falling in a Game 5 decision, after winning two playoff series to reach that round.

Ott played 1,049 NHL games as a center and right wing across 16 seasons, including time with Dallas, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Colorado. His tenure as Thunderbirds coach now extends through at least 2028.
