InjuryFantasy impact

Atlanta's ace starter heads to the shelf mid-season with an injury that could affect the rotation down the stretch.

The Braves placed starting pitcher Spencer Strider on the 15-day injured list Saturday with inflammation in his right elbow. Strider, 25, has been one of Atlanta's primary rotation anchors; he entered the week with a 2.88 ERA over 80 innings in 14 starts.

The timing falls two weeks before the trade deadline, when rotation health becomes critical. Strider's absence will shift workload onto the Braves' remaining starters as the club navigates the middle of the season.
