The Chicago Bulls won their first game of Las Vegas Summer League on Tuesday, pulling away from a shorthanded Washington side for a 99-87 victory that finally gave the roster something to build on after opening the week 0-2. The headliner this time was not the lottery pick.

Jaylin Sellers led all scorers with 24 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three, adding three steals and a block. Donovan Atwell chipped in 19, and the two guards gave Chicago the perimeter shot-making that had gone missing in losses to Memphis and Utah. The Bulls outscored Washington in each of the final three quarters and pushed the lead to 20 in the fourth after the game was tied six times inside the opening 30 minutes.

Caleb Wilson, the No. 4 pick, again looked comfortable in a complementary role, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block. It was his third straight scoring night in Vegas, and the more useful development is that his production no longer has to carry the group by itself. Washington played without No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa, who has been shut down for the rest of Summer League, so the result came with a caveat; Chris Livingston’s 21 points led the Wizards.

For a rebuilding roster, the win matters less than the sample. Sellers and Atwell are exactly the kind of low-cost roster hopefuls a team in Chicago’s position needs to sort through now, and a combined 43 points on efficient shooting is the sort of audition that earns a longer look in camp. One game does not settle a rotation, but the Bulls came to Las Vegas to find out who else can play alongside Wilson, and Tuesday offered a first answer.

In fantasy terms, Wilson is the only Bull from this group worth a firm dynasty hold; three steady outings have cemented him as a rookie to prioritize in deeper redraft leagues once the season starts. Sellers and Atwell stay off standard-league radars, but Sellers’s shooting stroke is worth filing away in the deepest dynasty formats if he turns this stretch into a regular-season roster spot.
