The Carolina Hurricanes signed defenseman William Håkansson, their 51st overall pick in June’s draft, to a three-year entry-level contract Wednesday. Per The Hockey Writers, the deal pays $850,000, $900,000 and $950,000 at the NHL level across its three seasons, with $288,000 in total signing bonuses and up to $40,000 in games-played bonuses. For fantasy purposes Håkansson is a long-range dynasty name only — a second-round defenseman entering a deep Carolina system, with no urgency until he pushes for NHL minutes.
