Jacob deGrom is the Texas Rangers‘ listed starter for Monday night’s opener against the White Sox at Globe Life Field, his first outing since July 7 after a strained glute pushed him past the All-Star break. Per Sports Illustrated’s Rangers site, deGrom threw a bullpen Saturday with no issues and was cleared for the start, in which he’ll return as expected opposite Erick Fedde. deGrom is 7-5 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in 100.2 innings over 18 starts. Fantasy managers who benched him amid the injury uncertainty can lock him back into lineups tonight, though the matchup is no gift — the 52-46 White Sox lead the AL Central and rank ninth in MLB in runs scored.
