Injury
The shortstop returns Friday after a two-and-a-half-month absence with a broken wrist.
The Diamondbacks will activate shortstop Jordan Lawlar from the 60-day injured list for Friday's series opener in Cincinnati, per John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports and 98.7 FM. Lawlar has been sidelined since mid-March with a right wrist fracture. Arizona will make the necessary active and 40-man roster moves ahead of the activation.
Lawlar, 23, was the No. 8 overall pick in 2021 and enters his second full season in Arizona's system. His return fills a depth need at short as the Diamondbacks navigate the second half of the season.
