The Reds pitcher will undergo surgery next week for a partial tear in his right elbow.

Hunter Greene will have surgery next week to address a partial UCL tear in his right elbow, Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall announced Friday, per Reds Live. Greene, who has appeared in 17 games (10 starts) this season with a 3.86 ERA, is the latest Cincinnati starter to face Tommy John surgery or related elbow work in recent years.

The surgery ends Greene's 2026 season and leaves the Reds' rotation to adjust during the stretch run. Cincinnati sits five games back in the NL Central with less than two months remaining.
