The Reds catcher had the procedure done on his throwing arm during the stretch run.

Reds manager Terry Francona confirmed Wednesday that catcher Blake Dunn underwent internal brace surgery on his right elbow, per Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati. Internal brace procedures are designed to stabilize ligament damage while preserving native tissue, typically allowing for faster recovery than traditional reconstruction.

Dunn, 26, has appeared in 52 games this season. The timing of the procedure during the stretch run leaves his availability for the remainder of the season in question.
