Defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton will likely start Carolina Panthers training camp on the physically unable to perform list, per the team’s pre-camp defensive preview on panthers.com. Wharton underwent neck surgery in early May and the team says his return timeline is unknown. Carolina noted Bobby Brown III, who started five games last season, and Cam Jackson could see increased snaps while Wharton is out. Panthers veterans report July 22, with the first practice July 23.
