Credits & Data Sources

In The Rafters is built on free, public, well-documented data sources. We don’t use a paid stat provider. Here’s what feeds each section:

  • ESPN public APIs — scoreboard, summary, standings, team injuries, athletes. The same endpoints that power espn.com’s own scoreboard pages.
  • Open-Meteo — free weather forecasts (no API key required) for outdoor-sport game pages.
  • WordPress.com REST — every page and post on the site is created and updated through the standard /wp/v2 endpoints.
  • Anthropic Claude — drafts the editorial body of news articles inside the sports-desk pipeline.

Team names, logos, and league marks remain the property of their respective leagues and clubs. Player headshots are not used; player pages reserve a card slot for owned/generated art.
