Roster move clears space for the recalls of Eldridge and Rodríguez announced yesterday.
The Giants designated outfielder Jerar Encarnacion for assignment and optioned fellow outfielder Will Brennan to Triple-A Sacramento. The moves correspond to yesterday's recalls of catcher Bryce Eldridge and infielder Jesús Rodríguez. The team also recalled right-hander Trevor McDonald.
