Buffalo's center depth takes a hit in the playoffs with both players sidelined by injury.

The Buffalo Sabres expect to be without centers Noah Ostlund and Sam Carrick for their second-round series, coach Lindy Ruff announced. Carrick has been out since March with an upper-body injury sustained in a fight with Islanders captain Anders Lee; Ostlund's injury timeline was not specified in the announcement.
