Martin clears waivers and can elect free agency if he chooses.

The Cubs outrighted right-hander Corbin Martin to Triple-A Iowa after he cleared waivers, per MiLB.com's transaction log. Martin, 30, has been outrighted before and retains the right to elect free agency. He was designated for assignment on May 7 and made the move official today. Through five games this season, Martin had posted a 2.25 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP over 4.0 innings.
