Colorado's veteran defenseman drew the maximum CBA fine for the infraction during Monday's playoff game.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Josh Manson was fined $5,000 on Tuesday for hitting Minnesota Wild center Michael McCarron with his stick during Monday's playoff game. The fine represents the maximum allowed under the NHL's collective bargaining agreement.

Manson, 34, is in his 12th season and recorded 31 points (5 G, 26 A) over 79 regular-season games. McCarron, 31, had 12 points (5 G, 7 A) in 59 games for the Wild.
