RecapShort noteFantasy impact

Meidroth's solo home run accounted for three runs in Chicago's 6-5 win over Kansas City, but the rest of the lineup went quiet.

Chase Meidroth went 1-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBI, and 1 run scored as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-5 at Guaranteed Rate Field on May 12. Meidroth's one swing produced most of the offensive work; the homer was the difference in a one-run game.

The White Sox needed that production. Outside Meidroth's home run, the offense generated limited run support. Meidroth drew no walks in the game and did not reach base beyond the homer, leaving the team dependent on other contributors to secure the margin of victory.

A single power stroke carrying three runs reflects Meidroth's ability to deliver impact at the plate, but one home run in four at-bats is not a repeatable offensive formula. The White Sox will need more consistent production across the lineup to build on this win as the season progresses.
