Pittsburgh looked to move up for the USC receiver but did not pursue the deal.
The Steelers explored a trade with Tampa Bay for the Buccaneers' No. 15 pick during the draft to select Makai Lemon, per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The deal did not materialize. Lemon, a 21-year-old wide receiver from USC with no NFL experience, was selected by Philadelphia in the second round instead.
The trade inquiry signals the Steelers' internal interest in Lemon as a potential long-term target at the position. Pittsburgh did not pursue a deal with Dallas to move up for the receiver, Dulac reported.
