The Nationals' 22-year-old third baseman moves out of the majors after a slow start.

Brady House was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Monday. The 22-year-old third baseman is in his second season with Washington after debuting in 2025, and has hit .221 (25-for-113) with 4 home runs and 15 RBIs across 30 games this season.

The demotion opens a roster spot for the Nationals and signals House's major-league role is on pause. Triple-A time gives the young infielder a chance to reset at the plate while keeping his development path open.
