Los Angeles adds a veteran arm mid-season after Toronto designated the left-hander for assignment.
The Dodgers acquired left-hander Eric Lauer from the Blue Jays for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Toronto designated Lauer for assignment earlier in the week. Los Angeles moved reliever Brusdar Graterol to the 60-day injured list to open a 40-man roster spot.
Lauer, 30, is in his eighth season and carries a 1–3 record, 6.00 ERA, and 1.52 WHIP over six games (five starts) and 27.0 innings this year. He has not pitched effectively for Toronto and now joins a Dodgers rotation in mid-May search for stability.
