Milwaukee adds a six-year veteran reliever to bolster depth as bullpen injuries pile up.

The Brewers acquired right-hander Joel Kuhnel from the Athletics for cash, addressing bullpen depth after reliever Brian Fitzpatrick landed on the injured list. Kuhnel, 31, has appeared in 11 games this season with a 2.31 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 11.2 innings. Fitzpatrick, a 25-year-old in his debut season, becomes Milwaukee's eighth pitcher on the injured list.

Kuhnel enters a Milwaukee rotation that has lost significant depth to injury. His six years of major-league experience provide short-term relief as the Brewers navigate the midseason crunch.
