Milwaukee adds a left-handed arm to the bullpen while losing depth to injury.
The Brewers selected left-hander Drew Rom ahead of Saturday's game against the Rockies. Rom last pitched in the majors with the Cardinals in 2023. The move came after the team placed fellow lefty Brian Fitzpatrick on the 15-day IL with an elbow injury. Fitzpatrick, 25, has appeared in two games this season with a 1.71 WHIP across 2.1 innings.
Milwaukee had an opening on the 40-man roster, so no corresponding roster transaction was required beyond the IL placement.
