Recap

The third baseman ended Chicago's 2-1 defeat with an out and acknowledged his offensive struggles.

Alex Bregman went 0-for-5 and made the final out Sunday night as the Cubs fell 2-1 to the Giants at home. The 32-year-old third baseman, in the first year of a five-year, $175 million deal, attributed the loss to his own performance.

Bregman is 11-for-128 (.258) with 3 home runs and 12 RBI through 32 games this season. The Cubs' offense has struggled to generate runs, and Bregman's early-season line sits well below his career standards.
