InjuryFantasy impact

The Mariners shortstop was hit by a pitch from Detroit starter Framber Valdez on Friday and missed the final two games of the series.

J.P. Crawford was placed on the injured list with a right hand contusion after being hit by a pitch from Detroit starter Framber Valdez in the third inning of Friday’s game.

The 31-year-old shortstop, 10 years into his career, sat out the final two games of the Mariners ‘ series against the Tigers. Crawford entered the series 25 games into the 2026 season with a .202 average (17-for-84) and 7 RBI.

The injury removes a veteran presence from Seattle’s shortstop position for an undetermined span.
