The 26-year-old center, who posted 7 goals and 13 assists over 43 games in San Jose's 2025-26 regular season, would return to his home country rather than remain unsigned.
Kurashev has six seasons of NHL experience since his 2018 debut. The timing of the Switzerland option suggests his representation is preparing contingencies as the offseason contract market develops.
