Injury

The Angels' second baseman goes down with a left oblique injury, opening the middle infield for the next 10 days.

The Angels placed second baseman Vaughn Grissom on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left oblique strain. Grissom, 25, is in his fourth season and has appeared in 14 games this year with 13 hits and 4 doubles across 39 at-bats.

The move clears roster space on Los Angeles' bench mid-season while Grissom recovers from the strain. The Angels will need to fill his defensive position and at-bat opportunities until his return.
