The Angels right-hander will miss the remainder of 2026 and likely much of 2027.

Jack Kochanowicz will undergo Tommy John surgery, the Angels right-hander told reporters including Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The 25-year-old, who has posted a 3.09 ERA over six starts and 35.0 innings this season, will be sidelined until the second half of 2027. He is already on the 15-day injured list and will be moved to the 60-day IL.

Kochanowicz was three years into his career after debuting in 2024. The surgery removes a promising young arm from Los Angeles' rotation depth for the remainder of the season and well into 2027.
