Los Angeles brings back its veteran third baseman after six weeks out with a left-hand fracture.

Max Muncy was activated from the injured list after missing roughly six weeks with a left-hand fracture. The 35-year-old third baseman, in his 11th season with the Dodgers, had appeared in 30 games before the injury, batting .288 with 9 home runs and 12 RBI.

Oakland optioned infielder Darell Hernaiz to make room. The 24-year-old third baseman had played in 19 games for the Athletics this season, going 10-for-41 with 1 home run and 4 RBI.
