The Wizards guard must decide by mid-June whether to exercise his $48.9M option for 2026-27 or test the market.

Trae Young has until June 23 to exercise his $48.9 million player option for the 2026-27 season with the Washington Wizards. The 27-year-old guard, in his seventh year, averaged 19.3 points and 8.9 assists over 10 games this season before the playoff run began.

Declining the option would allow Young to pursue a new deal in free agency, though the Wizards retain the right to extend him before that deadline if both sides agree to terms.
