The Royals left-hander, already managing an elbow impingement, felt discomfort during a throwing session.

Cole Ragans is headed for testing after reporting arm discomfort during a throwing session, manager Matt Quatraro told reporters. The Royals left-hander has been working back from an elbow impingement, and his rehab was already paused once due to renewed elbow stiffness. Ragans is 1-4 with a 5.29 ERA over seven starts this season.

The testing outcome will determine whether Ragans can resume his throwing progression or faces further delays in his return. Kansas City is 0-7 in his starts this season.
