The 31-year-old defenseman has narrowed his preferred destinations as Edmonton weighs options on its $9.25M cap commitment.

Darnell Nurse has given the Oilers a short list of teams he would accept a trade to, per AP. The 31-year-old left-shooting defenseman, 11 seasons into his career, carries four years remaining on his contract at a $9.25M annual cap hit.

Nurse logged 82 games in the 2025-26 regular season with 7 goals, 17 assists, and 24 points. The move suggests Edmonton is exploring trade options on the defenseman as the club manages its cap structure heading into the offseason.
