Two hit-by-pitch incidents in one game create roster and discipline questions for both teams.

Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts left the game after being hit by a pitch to the head and did not return for precautionary reasons. Bogaerts, 33, is in his 14th season and has appeared in 30 games this year with a .268 average (30-112) and 5 home runs.

Later in the same game, Padres reliever Ron Marinaccio hit Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson with a pitch and was ejected. Marinaccio, 30, is 1-5 with a 5.30 ERA in 12 appearances this season. Henderson, 24, entered the game batting .207 (28-135) with 9 home runs in 32 games.
