Injury
The Wizards center will miss summer league and the start of offseason work after fracturing his right foot.
Alex Sarr underwent surgery Monday to repair a fractured right foot, per ESPN's Shams Charania. The Wizards center, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft, will spend the offseason rehabbing and is expected to miss summer league and early preparation.
Sarr averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks across 48 games (48 starts) in his rookie season. The injury timing is significant for a 21-year-old still building chemistry with a young Washington roster ahead of next season.
