The Mets' young starter heads to the IL with what is expected to be a minor injury.

The Mets will place right-hander Christian Scott on the injured list due to a hip issue, per reports from Will Sammon of The Athletic and Jon Heyman of The New York Post. Both outlets describe the injury as expected to be minor. Scott last pitched June 11th.

Scott, 26, is in his second season and has made two starts this year with a 4.26 ERA across 6.1 innings. The placement removes him from the rotation at the midseason mark, when the Mets' depth at the position becomes relevant to any trade-deadline decisions.
