Injury

Cleveland's All-Star third baseman will miss time after a foul ball injury in the fifth inning of a win over Detroit.

José Ramírez underwent surgery on his left hand after suffering the injury during the fifth inning of Cleveland's 3-1 win over Detroit on June 17. The 33-year-old All-Star fouled out on a pop-up to Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler.

Ramírez, in his 14th season, was batting .217 (26-for-120) with 6 home runs and 12 RBI through 33 games. The Guardians will operate without their primary third baseman for an undetermined stretch during the midseason stretch.
