The Philadelphia Phillies did not hit a single home run in Detroit on Saturday and won anyway, 4-2, behind seven innings from Cristopher Sánchez and a clean ninth from Jhoan Duran.

Sánchez was not sharp in the conventional sense — he gave up 10 hits — but he kept the Tigers from stringing them together, allowing two runs across seven innings while striking out seven in the 4-2 win. The only ball that truly hurt him was Eduardo Valencia‘s solo homer. Everything else Detroit put in play stayed in the yard, and Sánchez improved to 11-4 with a 2.62 ERA and 144 strikeouts, numbers that keep him in the middle of the National League Cy Young conversation.

The offense did its work without the long ball. J.T. Realmuto delivered the biggest swing, a two-run single, while Trea Turner and Derek Hill each drove in a run. Bryce Harper collected two hits and Bryson Stott added two more, in a lineup that manufactured four runs on singles and situational contact rather than fireworks.

Duran handled the ninth for his 24th save, and at a 1.38 ERA he has quietly been one of the best late-inning arms in the league. Casey Mize took the loss for Detroit, charged with five runs over 5.2 innings.

This is the version of the Phillies that plays deep into October — no homers, 10 hits allowed, and a win banked anyway. You don’t have to love how it looked. The result nudged Philadelphia to 53-43 and kept the Phillies within two games of Atlanta in the NL East, the Braves having lost their own game in St. Louis.

For fantasy managers, Sánchez remains a set-and-forget ace despite the 10-hit line; the strikeouts and ratios are elite in any format. Duran’s grip on the ninth is airtight, so his 24 saves make him a top-tier closer to hold. Realmuto’s two-RBI night is a reminder he’s still a stable catcher play, particularly valuable in two-catcher leagues.
