The Toronto Raptors evened their Las Vegas Summer League record at 1-1 on Saturday, beating the Houston Rockets 102-89 behind a second unit that outscored Houston’s bench 45-24.
Seth Lundy led all Raptors with 23 points and Tyreke Key added 19 off the bench, per the NBA.com game report. Jamarion Sharp gave Toronto a rim presence at both ends with 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, and Nimari Burnett scored 14. First-round pick Allen Graves had a quieter night than his 22-point showing against Boston, finishing with nine points on 57.1 percent shooting.
Houston led 21-19 after a competitive first quarter, but Toronto flipped the game in the second and took a 10-point lead into halftime. The Rockets got within five with 5:42 remaining before the Raptors closed on a 16-8 run. Rockets rookie Bruce Thornton, who scored 27 in Houston’s Friday win over Denver, was held to 17 points, though he added six rebounds, six assists and a game-high five steals.
The bench margin is the scouting note worth keeping. Summer rosters are where fringe players make their case for camp invites and two-way deals, and Lundy, Key and Sharp all made theirs on the same night. Sharp’s game travels particularly well — a 7-foot-5 shot-blocker who protects the rim without fouling is the kind of specialist teams find room for, and Toronto’s front office has a long record of mining exactly this tier of the player pool.
The win came one night after Friday’s 83-80 overtime loss to the Celtics, making it a back-to-back for the summer squad. Toronto plays the Indiana Pacers on Monday.
On the fantasy side, nothing here changes redraft boards — Lundy, Key and Sharp are camp-battle names, not draft targets. Graves is the dynasty-relevant piece: the first-rounder’s role in Toronto’s wing rotation is worth monitoring through the rest of Vegas, especially with the roster still in flux while the Kawhi Leonard trade sits on hold pending the league’s investigation.
