Lamar Jackson landed at No. 69 in the NFL Top 100, the annual player-voted ranking released this week — a 67-spot fall from No. 2 a year ago, and his lowest placement since 2023. For a Baltimore Ravens quarterback with two MVP awards, it is the kind of drop the list almost never produces for a healthy player in his prime.
The voters were grading the 2025 season, and the 2025 season gave them little to work with. Jackson missed four games and finished with 2,549 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions, alongside a career-low 349 rushing yards. The Baltimore Sun notes it is his worst Top 100 rating in three years, and the team's own site called the ranking "way too low" — a fair complaint about a list that has always measured reputation through the narrow window of the most recent season.
The more useful question is the one the ranking can't answer: whether last season was an injury-driven outlier or the beginning of a change in how Jackson has to play. The 349 rushing yards are the number to watch. Jackson's rushing threat has been the foundation of every great Baltimore offense he has led, and a version of this team that gets 700-plus of those yards back looks nothing like the one that limped through last year. He will get the chance to answer it in a new offensive scheme under first-year head coach Jesse Minter's staff, with quarterbacks and rookies reporting July 24 and veterans following July 28.
Peer rankings follow production, and the correction can be just as fast in the other direction. A healthy season restores the number. What it needs to restore for Baltimore is January football — the standings item this roster has been built around for years.
For fantasy purposes, the ranking is a gift. Jackson's draft price has slipped from the first-round lock territory he occupied a year ago, and the profile that made him a top-three fantasy quarterback — the rushing floor plus a 20-touchdown passing baseline — is a health question, not a talent question. If he falls past the early QB tier in drafts, he is one of the better buy-low cases at the position.
