The Phoenix Suns have seen enough. The team is shutting down Khaman Maluach, Koa Peat and Rasheer Fleming for the remainder of Summer League, per John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports — a decision that followed Wednesday’s 100-88 win over the Pistons, the trio’s fourth game in Las Vegas.

They left nothing unfinished. Maluach closed his summer with 23 points and 15 rebounds against Detroit, his fourth double-double in four games, and finished the week averaging 19.5 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while shooting 40 percent from three. Fleming’s finale was his cleanest game yet — 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds — and Peat added 19 points with three rebounds and three assists, ending a week in which the rookie scored in double figures every night.

The shutdown costs Phoenix nothing in the bracket, because the bracket was already gone: the Suns finished group play 3-1 but were edged out of the four-team semifinal field on point differential, their plus-3.8 falling short of Golden State’s plus-6.3 for the final spot. Phoenix will instead play a consolation game against the Spurs on Saturday without its three headliners, which turns the assignment over to Koby Brea and the rest of the summer roster.

The math is easy to defend. Maluach, Fleming and Peat are the frame of whatever Phoenix builds next, and four games answered the questions July can answer — Maluach can anchor a defense against summer competition, Fleming’s added strength has translated, and Peat’s offensive game is ahead of his draft slot. A fifth exhibition offered injury risk and little else.

For fantasy purposes, Maluach is the clear riser: a center producing double-doubles with blocks and a credible three-point stroke is a top-tier dynasty hold and climbing redraft boards, though his rookie-year value still depends on how Phoenix splits frontcourt minutes. Fleming’s summer supports late-round redraft consideration in deeper formats, while Peat remains a dynasty stash whose path to minutes is the thing to watch in camp.
