New detail on Connor Bedard‘s left shoulder: agent Don Meehan told the Chicago Sun-Times’ Ben Pope that Bedard had an MRI with Blackhawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry, then flew to Vail, Colorado, for a second opinion from Dr. Peter Millett, who found “a touch more damage” than in the right-shoulder injury Bedard played through last December. Both doctors recommended the surgery that has him out roughly four months. Per Meehan, doctors consider the two shoulder injuries coincidental and have “no concerns” about a full recovery, and Bedard plans an aggressive rehab aimed at beating the November timeline.
For fantasy managers, an earlier-than-November return would nudge Bedard’s redraft stock up a round or two, but November remains the planning baseline until the team says otherwise.
