Injury

The Yankees lose their left fielder for 4–6 weeks while Judge remains sidelined.

Cody Bellinger was placed on the injured list with a hamstring strain and is expected to miss 4–6 weeks. The 30-year-old left fielder was in his first season with New York after arriving in the offseason, posting a .250 average with 3 home runs and 16 RBI over 31 games.

Bellinger's absence compounds an already depleted Yankees outfield. Aaron Judge, the team's right fielder and captain, remains sidelined, leaving the Yankees without two of their three primary corner outfielders during a critical stretch before the trade deadline.
