Injury

The closer is back after 85 games on the injured list following April arthroscopic surgery.

Edwin Diaz returned from the injured list and earned a save for the Dodgers after a 85-game absence. The 32-year-old right-hander had arthroscopic surgery in April to remove loose bodies from his elbow and was sidelined through the All-Star break and trade deadline.

Diaz's return shores up Los Angeles' bullpen depth and restores one of baseball's most reliable closers to a contender mid-season. The Dodgers can now lean on their established closer as they navigate the stretch run.
