Philadelphia is exploring a deal for Toronto's center fielder ahead of the trade deadline.
The Phillies are in early talks with Toronto about acquiring center fielder Daulton Varsho, per Jon Heyman of The New York Post. MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported the clubs are emerging as potential trade partners, with Varsho among several Blue Jays players on Philadelphia's radar.
Varsho, 29, is in his seventh season and has appeared in 30 games this year, posting a .233 average with 4 home runs and 8 RBI. The deadline is still weeks away; no trade framework has been reported.
