Detroit's reliever will miss the stretch run after undergoing procedures on his elbow and hip.
Detroit Tigers right-handed reliever Will Vest underwent surgery this week to address a stress fracture in his elbow and will also have a future hip operation, per reporting from The Athletic's Cody Stavenhagen. Vest, 30, is out for the remainder of the season.
Vest has appeared in 13 games for the Tigers in 2026 with a 6.17 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts across 11.2 innings. His season was already difficult before the elbow injury surfaced; he carries a 1-3 record with limited effectiveness in a down year for the six-year veteran.
