Los Angeles clears a roster spot by moving on from the veteran right-hander.
The Dodgers designated Cole Irvin for assignment and placed Will Klein on the injured list to make room for right-handers Kyle Hurt and Wyatt Mills in the bullpen. Hurt and Mills were already on the 40-man roster, so Irvin's DFA opens a spot on the active roster. Klein, 26, has pitched to a 2.77 ERA with 1.38 WHIP over 9 games this season.
Hurt, 27, has appeared in 7 games with a 1.29 ERA and 0.43 WHIP. Both additions shape as depth moves for Los Angeles during the stretch run toward September.
