Minnesota has payroll room to continue shopping ahead of the deadline.

The Twins acquired lefty reliever A.J. Minter from the Mets and right-handed starter Dean Kremer from the Orioles in back-to-back trades, absorbing roughly $5.1 million in remaining salary across both deals. Minnesota is now targeting right-handed relievers as the deadline approaches and has additional payroll flexibility to add.

The moves represent an aggressive deadline posture for a team in the stretch run. Kremer, a starter, and Minter, a reliever, address depth in different ways, but the Twins' stated focus on right-handed bullpen arms suggests rotation depth may be set for now.
