Injury

The Chiefs receiver was hurt during Saturday's final training camp session but escaped major damage.

Xavier Worthy avoided a serious shoulder injury sustained during the final session of Saturday's training camp practice, per NFL Network. The Chiefs receiver's status for the preseason and regular season hinges on the severity of the strain, though early indications suggest it will not require surgery or a lengthy absence.

Worthy, 23, caught 42 passes for 532 yards and one touchdown across 14 games last season in his third year with Kansas City. His availability through camp and the preseason will be the first checkpoint for the team's receiver depth chart.
