The Mets are in active talks to move their starter ahead of today's cutoff.
The Mets are expected to trade starter Clay Holmes before today's deadline, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post and Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The Brewers are among the teams in talks for the 33-year-old righty, who is in his ninth season.
Holmes has posted a 3-2 record with a 1.75 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over six starts and 36 innings this season. Any trade would clear him from New York's rotation in the stretch run.
