Recap
The left fielder locks in his future in Colorado as the stretch run enters its final month.
Mickey Moniak and the Rockies agreed to a two-year extension worth $16.25 million, per MLB.com's Thomas Harding and Mark Feinsand. The deal is expected to be announced Wednesday. Moniak, 27, is in his seventh season and has appeared in 26 games this year with 9 home runs and 18 RBI over 94 at-bats.
The extension keeps Moniak in Colorado through the remainder of his prime years as the club navigates its playoff push in the final weeks of August.
