Injury
The 49ers receiver's knee injury is rare enough that predicting his return is difficult.
Ricky Pearsall is undergoing surgery for an isolated PCL injury, per the San Francisco Chronicle, a relatively uncommon procedure among prominent athletes that makes setting realistic rehab expectations difficult. Pearsall, 25, caught 36 passes for 528 yards in nine games last season before the injury.
The lack of precedent for isolated PCL surgery at the professional level means the 49ers and Pearsall have limited reference points for recovery length or whether he will return to his pre-injury performance level.
