Injury
The Falcons' draft investment remains unavailable while recovering from a knee injury ahead of the quarterback competition.
Michael Penix Jr. has not been fully medically cleared, leaving the Falcons unable to begin their quarterback competition in earnest during training camp. The second-overall pick from this year's draft is working to expedite his recovery from a knee injury sustained before camp opened.
Penix's absence shapes Atlanta's early roster work. The Falcons signed Kirk Cousins in free agency and also carry veteran Desmond Ridder on the depth chart, meaning the camp battle so far has been limited to those two until Penix rejoins practice.
