Buxton said Thursday his recovery is progressing slower than anticipated but that he's ramping up off-field work—loading drills, isometrics, and weight training—with hopes to return to field work soon. At 32, Buxton has played in 30 games this season with a .260 average, 9 home runs, and 13 RBI.
